Poetry can be for everyone and with the right help, anyone can be guided to make poetry that is uniquely their own. But sometimes we don't seem to have the energy to write. Maybe lately we have forgotten how it feels to have plans, and that has affected how we usually imagine...
During the last couple of years, if you've felt a bit stuck creatively, or just in general, of course you are not alone. This poetry workshop takes into account where you might be creatively right now, and uses the image of a beautiful boat to make you feel like great things are on their way to you once more.
Carmen Leigh Keates is a poet with over a decade of experience in helping people with their writing. Carmen's cinema-themed poetry collection Meteorites won the Whitmore Press manuscript prize and then went on to be shortlisted for the Queensland Literary Awards. She is a co-editor of Foam:e Poetry Journal and since 2014, Carmen has had the good fortune to be the writer-in-residence at Hobart's Kelly Street Cottage three times. She returns to Hobart in 2022 for this workshop.
