Nature writing in fiction with Katherine Johnson
Join author and science writer Katherine Johnson for a nature writing workshop to inspire your own writing projects. By including elements of landscape and biology, as well as our human connection with the natural world, authors can add layers of interest and depth to fiction writing as well as creative non-fiction.
With a background in science, journalism, and creative writing, Katherine will draw on examples, including from her most recent novel, Every Wild Soul. The workshop will include key novel-writing elements and provide hands-on writing exercises to help you build nature and landscape into your own stories.
Katherine Johnson is an award-winning Tasmanian novelist and feature writer. Her most recent novel, Every Wild Soul, is the inaugural winner of The Australian Fiction Prize.
Previous novels include Paris Savages, Matryoshka, The Better Son and Pescador’s Wake.
