MAKING UP TRUTH: The Magic Tricks of Fiction with Cameron Hindrum

How do you make a writer vanish?

This practical workshop will explore several facets of writing that relate to crafting stories in innovative ways. Using several examples as case studies, from writers such as Graham Swift, Virginia Woolf and William Faulkner, participants will explore notions such as point of view, time, structure, and principles of narration to enrich and enliven their own fiction. Inspiration will also be drawn from Exercises in Style by Raymond Queneau and 99 Ways to Tell a Story, by Matt Madden.

Lively discussion will ensue regarding the application of these principles to participants' own work.

No expectations and no preparation required! Please bring writing materials, a summary of your current work in progress and some interesting questions.

This venue has free parking at the door, there is a café across the road at the old Queen Victoria Hospital called Tower Café ( http://towercafe.com.au/ )

In the last week before the workshop, as the suggestion of Cameron Hindrum, we are making tickets available for full-time students for $20 for the places that remain.
