Writing Grief and Trauma

Whether you’re writing fiction or non-fiction, grief and trauma can be daunting issues to explore. In this interactive, one-day workshop you will learn what trauma and grief actually are, how to address them in your writing and how to take care of yourself while doing so. Learn practical tips for exploring grief and trauma with plenty of group discussions and chances to write during the workshop.

Eliza is the author of two novels and two young adult novels. Her novels have been shortlisted in the NSW Premier’s Literary Awards, the Readings Prize for New Australian Fiction and longlisted for the ABIA, Indie Book Awards and CBCA Awards. She has qualifications in grief, loss and trauma counselling and psychology. She is currently a PhD candidate in creative writing, exploring trauma and landscape. Her work has been published widely, appearing in places such as The Guardian, The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald and The Big Issue. She lives on a little farm in the Yarra Valley.
