  • Memoir writing appeals to those who want to record their family’s history for future generations.

But going a step further and psychologically analysing the story of your life can have surprising benefits, including:

  • ·      Making peace with traumas of the past,
  • ·      Increased self awareness and insight,
  • ·      Learning valuable lessons about life, and
  • ·      Planning for the years ahead.

In this 2.5 hour practical workshop, Peter will describe the benefits of writing a psychological memoir, and provide hands-on skills and techniques for doing so, based on the contents of his 2022 book, ‘IF I WERE YOU – A psychologist puts himself on the couch’.

All participants will receive a signed copy of Peter’s book as part of their enrolment in this workshop.

Peter will also discuss examples of other psychological memoirs, including Prince Harry’s new book, ‘Spare’.

This workshop will be conducted online. Participants will be sent a meeting link a few days before the date.

Peter Quarry is an award-winning psychologist, with extensive experience in workshop facilitation, public speaking and the media. See www.peterquarry.com for details.

By the end of this workshop, participants will have the motivation, skills and a plan to tackle their own memoir project.

Testimonials:

'Peter was an entertaining and engaging speaker, offering his audience every opportunity to ask questions of him and to literally put him 'on the couch'.

But it was also a learning experience and I have come away from it keen to explore the strategies he suggests.

I thoroughly recommend 'If I Was You – A psychologist puts himself on the couch' as a starting point and  springboard for that journey.’
