Recorded at Storygig23, this panel on censorship was a lively discussion between the audience and presenters - Jan Richards AM has built a national and international reputation as a library professional over the last 40 years. Before moving to semi-retirement on Bruny Island, she was employed as Manager of Central West Libraries in NSW for more than 30 years. She is a former member of the Library Council of NSW (the State Library governing body), a past President and Fellow of the Australian Library and Information Association; past Chair of the Australian Public Library Alliance; and she is a current member of the Tasmanian Library Advisory Board. She is an active affiliate of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions, based in The Hague, and is currently Deputy Chair of the Professional Council and Chair of Professional Division E with responsibility for the School Libraries, Indigenous Matters, Information Literacy, Libraries for Children and Young Adults, Literacy and Reading, Reference and Information Services and Library History Sections. Awards include: HCL Anderson Award (2019) Member Order of Australia (AM) (2017) Fellow, Australian Library and Information Association (2013) Rayne Allinson has a PhD in History from the University of Oxford. She runs the Reading Groups at Fullers Bookshop in Hobart, and is Assistant Publisher at Forty South. Sue McKerracher has been a CEO and Board Director working across government, business and the not-for-profit sectors in the UK and Australia, with special expertise in Australian libraries, library education and literacy. After 10 years as CEO of the Australian Library and Information Association, she joined Libraries Tasmania in 2022 as Executive Director responsible for the State Library, Archives and 46 public libraries.
