The Ink Spot Club - Making comics

Comics can be made about anything, including your life.

In this two hour workshop we’ll talk about different ways to make a short comic story about growing up. We’ll think up some fun ideas and then we’ll make one!

Paper, pens/pencils provided (feel free to bring your favourite drawing pen if you want to)

Drawing skills not required (stick figures are cool.

Joshua Santospirito (he/him) has been making comics since he was a kid. He has won awards for his two graphic novels The Long Weekend in Alice Springs (2013) and Swallows Part One (2015). Josh’s works have been published in magazines such as Meanjin, Island, and The Monthly. He lives in nipaluna where he grows vegetables, writes and makes art. He has run the Small Press Zine Fair since 2014 and is a co-director of the Comic Art Workshop, an organisation dedicated to running a biennial residency for graphic novelists.
