TasWriters Presents Hobart Writers Minifest: A Celebration of Local Literary Excellence

On Saturday 29 November, TasWriters is hosting Hobart Writers MiniFest in the historic Hadley’s Orient Hotel with a full-day celebration of our writing community and its achievements this past year. Bringing together beloved Tasmanian authors, emerging writers and passionate readers for a dynamic program that spans reader favourites such as crime, short-form writing and historical fiction as well as practical publishing information.

From 9:30am to 5:00pm, attendees will enjoy six sessions featuring acclaimed writers including Karen Brooks, Ben Walter, Shayne Breen, Jo Dixon, and Tasmanian Literary Award Fiction winner Kate Kruimink, among others. The day will also include the Forty South Anthology 2025 Launch, with special guest Tess Crawley.

“Our Tasmanian authors and publishers have done amazing things this past year and this festival is one way of honouring them, as well as highlighting some of the incredible authors we have, whether they’re established, debut or emerging. What a thrill to be part of enabling discussion and connection between readers and writers and we invite everyone to join us for a day of inspiration and storytelling." says Meahd Farnaby, Festival Organiser and Deputy Chair of TasWriters.
